Opportunity

Dear Students and Parents:

There is an AWESOME opportunity on Sat, Jan 15th to go to the National Center for Vocal Studies in SLC and chat with Ingo Titze as part of a National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) activity. This is a very rare opportunity and I encourage everyone to attend-especially when it is only on occasion that students are invited! I will drive and have room for 5 extra people. We will leave around 8:30 AM that morning as the event starts at 10 AM. I know this is early for a Saturday but I think it will be well worth the sleep missed (or made up on the drive there and back!)

I need an RSVP/head count by TOMORROW (as required by NATS). I know that is a short notice but I just received the email that students were invited yesterday. I would love for all of you to have an opportunity such as this one. Ingo Titze is one of the BIG GUYS in the vocal studies area, if not THE guy and has amazing new information to share. You'll find a small bio on the tale end of this email

Reminder that lessons do not start until Jam 19th. I have dates for the semester and am in the process of typing things up.

Studio Policy

Studio Policy Winter 2013

SCHEDULE: All lessons will be taught on Tuesdays- included in that are the masterclasses/performance classes which will be on the designated Tuesdays at 4PM unless otherwise announced. Winter Semester begins Jan 8th and ends May 7^th, 2011. Fall Semester dates TBA. No lessons April 2nd and one other undetermined week in the semester. Lessons are 30 minutes.

TUITION: Each semester generally has 14 thirty minute lessons with two masterclasses/performance classes. Fees are $250 per semester. You can pay this in four monthly payments or 50% or 100% up front. Those paying up front will receive a 10% discount off the tuition. There is also an annual non-refundable registration fee: $20.00 per student or $30.00 per family due with all fall contracts.

Four monthly payments:

$62.50 a month

With 10% discount:

$225

Monthly payments are due the first lesson of the new month. Please note that a $5 late fee per week is added to late payments unless you were absent the first lesson of the month.

ATTENDANCE: Because this is a tuition based studio, refunds are not given for missed lessons. If you miss a lesson I offer a makeup day twice a semester. This semester it will be on March 22nd and May 3rd. Make-up lessons will be held at your normal scheduled time. Please notify me beforehand to let me know you are coming. If, for some reason, I have to miss or cancel a lesson, I will make those up. If you have a conflict you may switch lessons with another student. Please call and let me know you cannot attend a lesson or are switching with another student! Anyone is invited to attend a lesson if they can sit quietly and avoid being a distraction- the studio is an open-door policy for polite listeners!

TERMINATION: Should a student choose to stop lessons, full payment is due for the month in which termination occurs. If the tuition has already been paid in full, a refund will be pro-rated.

MASTERCLASS: Masterclasses/performance classes TBA. These gives us opportunities to hear others, practice performing for others, and provide vocal education that cannot be received in a private lesson.

RECITALS: Special masterclass will be considered our Spring Recital. Location to be announced.
